Camping Out

Well, I have been on weekend trauma call all weekend and thanks to the generosity of my daughter Paige and her husband they let me use their trailer to stay in. I am required to be to the hospital dressed and ready to work in 30 minutes and I just happen to live on the wrong side of Rigby to be able to accomplish that. So, I have parked the trailer in the EIRMC RV parking lot and it works out great because Rob can stay with me. The hospital has sleep rooms for our use, but he can't stay with me there. We have been camping out since Friday night and I started my next grandkid blanket for Saren. There are so many cute quilts out there but I am a newbie so I had to do as simple as possible. For all you quilters out there I am doing the "Yellow Brick Road". It will be lapsize when I am finished and well, let's just say that I didn't understand the directions as I sewed up the strips. It will work out because I still have 35 blocks, it just won't look like the pattern. It is my interpretation of "Yellow Brick Road".(haha) I have also learned that sewing on minkie is not the easiest for a beginner to sew on. I think the next blanket will be just cotton/flannel, then maybe I will have perfect seams. It is still fun and I am learning alot. Well I better get back to my sewing, I will post pictures as soon as possible.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you what the Stake President wanted. They have called Rob to be the 1st Assistant to the High Priest Group Leader. He was thrilled it was not the Leader. He said he didn't want to be responsible for making decisions, he only wants to help.

Another update on the basketball team. We finally won a game after a four game losing streak. We beat Skyline Friday night. We really needed the win. We were in last place in our conference. In the six years I have been involved with the basketball team we have never been last place. There was only one year we didn't go to the State Tournament. In a best case scenario we could end up in a four way tie for first. Wish us luck and pray for us (LOL) for the rest of the season. We really need to go to State. (Maybe then Rob can retire.)

  1. Ha ha! minkie- that stuff is tricky- i let my mom sew anything i might want out of minkie and even then she hates me for it! someone told her there is an adhesive that you can spray on it to make it easier. but i don't know, you'll have to ask my mom.
    anyway,keep up the good work!
